While shopping at the grocery store with my daughter in St. Louis, this nice gentlemen gave me a recipe to try. Here is the recipe:
Taco Pie
1 pound of ground beef
1 package of Lawry's taco seasoning
1/2 cup water
1 can of crescent dinner rolls
1 cup of crushed chips ( fritos or tostitos)
1 cup sour cream
1 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Chopped tomatoes, shredded lettuce and small jar of salsa
Brown the ground beef and drain off fat. Add taco seasoning and water to beef and simmer in skillet about 5 minutes until moisture is absorbed.
Separate and press dinner rolls in 9" pie pan. Sprinkle 1 cup crushed chips over the crust. Spoon meat mixture over the chips. Spread sour cream over meat. Sprinkle shredded cheese over sour cream. Sprinkle with remaining chips over cheese...
Bake at 375 degrees for about 25 minutes.
Serve topped with tomatoes, lettuce and salsa.
Enjoy!
